Sogeumgang Cheonghakje

In every October when the leaves are red, a ritual is held to pray for tourists’ safety for two days.
At first, the locals only held the main religious ceremony but started playing instrumental folk music from 1991. A hiking competition was also added in 1994.
The ceremony dedicated to Mother Earth involves offering special food items, observing formal rituals, and reading the rites and prayers according to the traditional Confucianism.
