Gyeryongsan National Park was the representative mountain of Baekje during the Three Kingdoms Period for its outstanding scenery. It was called the ‘Seoak’ among the five steep mountains in the Unified Silla period. The mountain is named Gyeryongsan because it resembles a dragon with a rooster’s comb (‘gye’ means chicken and ‘ryong’ means dragon in Korean).
