Conservation of Park Resources
‘The 1st Master Natural Park Plan (2003~2012)’ was drafted and implemented in July 2003 for the effective management of national park resources since they’re a core portion of Korea’s natural ecosystem. The organization has been focusing on the management of park resources in accordance with the ‘Management Plan by Park’, which is a detailed action plan for the 19 parks, through which to ensure professional and scientific park management and provision of high quality tourist services.
- Systematic study and monitoring natural resources
- Priority management and restoration of rare and endangered species
- Prevention and selective elimination of foreign species
- Protection of wild animal and plant habitats
- Development of a restoration plan for damaged areas by type and restoration of such areas
- Designation of special protection zones at national parks for the protection of important resources such as rare and endangered species
- Study of maritime and coastal park resources and efficient management of ecosystem
- Expansion of environmental facilities and implementation of environmental pollution reduction measures by park
- Implementation of other projects necessary for the management of park resources
