Korea National Park Service is offering a variety of hands-on programs at Odaesan National Park for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Firstly, the Olympic Zone was recently installed in the fir forest to introduce Odaesan National Park to foreigners who visit Korea during the PyeongChang Winter Olympics

In the Olympic zone, the posters explaining seven snow games and eight ice games including alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and snowboarding are displayed.

In addition, there is a booth at a corner of the fir forest where visitors can experience seolpi overshoes and traditional wooden ski which local people in Daegwallyeong used to wear during the winter. There is also a hands-on program to make a fir sachet using a piece of fir.

The fir forest at Odaesan Mountain have fir trees on the trail of about 1km, and was selected as the ‘Forest of Life’ in the 2011 Nationwide Competition of Beautiful Forest. Especially, the entrance to the fir forest trail is still a hot spot because it was the background scene of the popular TV drama 'Dokkaebi' which aired last year.

Furthermore, Korea National Park Service is offering a multilingual (Korean, English, Chinese, and Japanese) exploration and interpretation program that introduces the nature and historical culture of Odaesan Mountain to foreigners who visit here during the Winter Olympics.

The multilingual exploration and interpretation program is available for reservations from 10 or more Korean visitors and 4 or more in the case of foreigners. You can call (033-332-6418) or book online through the reservation system of National Park Service (reservation.knps.or.kr).
