Temporary access control to national parks in 2016

□ To prevent forest fire and to protect wild animals and plants as well as preventing safety accidents such as falling rocks during winter (thawing season), we inform you that we are going to control access to some of the trails.

 

○ From February 15 to April 30, some trails in Jirisan Mountain, Hallyeohaesang, Dadohaesang, Wolchulsan Mountain and Mudeungsan Mountain will be blocked.

 

○ From March 2 to April 30, some trails in Kyeryongsan Mountain, Songnisan Mountain, Naejangsan Mountain, Gayasan Mountain, Deogyusan Mountain, Juwangsan Mountain, Woraksan Mountain, Sobaeksan Mountain, and Byeonsanbando will be blocked while from March 2 to May 15, some trails in Seoraksan Mountain, Odaesan Mountain, Chiaksan Mountain, and Bukhansan Mountain will be closed.

Gyeryongsan Mountain, Sokrisan Mountain, Naejangsan Mountain, Kayasan Mountain, Doekyousan Mountain, Juwangsan Mountain, Wolaksan Mountain, Sobaecksan Mountain, and Byeonsanbando National Park

Mar. 2~May. 15

Seoraksan Mountain, Odaesan Mountain, Chiaksan Mountain, and Bukhansan Mountain

 

※ Be sure to refer to notices on the website of a national park you are planning to visit to as blocking period is subject to change due to weather condition, the safety of visitors, and the protection of natural resources.

 

○ Among 569 trails (1,898㎞) of the national parks, 106 trails vulnerable to forest fires from Nogodan Peak of Jirisan Mountain to Jangteomok (481㎞) are subject to be blocked.

 

○ 26 trails from Yoryeongdae of Jirisan Mountain to Hwagaejae (148㎞) will partially be blocked.
