Flagship Species

  • Ranunculus kazusensis   
  • - English Name : Chyousenbaikamo
  • - Class II Endangered Species

  • - Habitat : Rice paddies, swamps, and shallow water.
  • - Shape Characteristics :

    It’s empty inside, and roots come out from each joint.

  • - Ecological Characteristics :

    Perennial. It blooms in April and May, and the white flower has a diameter of about 1cm. Chyousenbaikamo is under the spotlight as three major habitats were found in Taeanhaean National Park after being discovered in Ganghwado Island.

  • - English Name : Korean Tiger Lizard
  • - Class II Endangered Species

  • - Habitat : Sandy beach, meadows, and sand hills.
  • - Shape Characteristics :

    It has a body length of 15~20cm, and it has leopard patterns on the body. It’s not very visible since the whole body has the color of sand.

  • - Ecological Characteristics :

    Korean tiger lizards live in a hole they dig under the rocks in a seashore and riverbank, as well as on the roots of dune plants.

  • - Feed : Small insects, spiders, etc…
